Day 1- Saturday

Arrive in Juneau. This is your day to explore Juneau! There is so much to do, and Captain Brendan can point you in the right direction! Hiking, Biking, visiting museums and shops, taking the tram to the top of Mt. Roberts, the list goes on! Tonight you are “on your own” for dinner. Juneau boasts some of the finest restaurants in Alaska, but also has everything from Pizza to Thai! You will be staying at the Silverbow Inn, Juneau’s Boutique Downtown hotel, or the classic Upscale and Alaska Classic: Baranof Hotel (depending on schedule and availability)! Once you land in Juneau Capt, Brendan will be waiting, to take you downtown!

DAY 2- Sunday

Wake up and have a great breakfast at one of Juneau’s great cafes’. At 11am your shuttle will arrive and take your on the 20 minute ride to Auke Bay where your Crew will meet you and take you down to Hopscotch! After a short safety briefing and Hopscotch orientation we will depart Auke Bay and head off on our adventure to Skagway. We will anchor on the West side of the channel tonight in a protected and calm bay for wild and spectacular experience with great kayaking, and shore walking opertunities.

DAY 3- Monday

We continue North with the incredible Chilkat mountains to the North and West cheering us on as we sail to near shore towards Sullivan Island where we will anchor nearby for the night. Whales (Humpbacks, Orcas) and Sealions will be some of the wildlife we hope to encounter today on the water.

DAY 4- Tuesday

Today we sail North! We usually have amazing wind and great views as we cruise past islands and rocky shores! We will anchor tonight in one of several bays perfect for paddling and beach strolling. Today is your day to take in all that Wild Alaska has to offer!

DAY 5 - Wednesday

Our Journey continues North as we wind through the islands and back into the main channel. Here the views get expansive as we have the Chilkat mountains to the west and coast range to the East. Tonight’s stop will be one of the most spectacular in Alaska, as we anchor in a protected bay with a glacial valley and stream to the North. THIS IS ALASKA at it’s finest. Keep an eye out for Brown bears here!

DAY 6 - Thursday

Coffee and breakfast on board, then off to adventure in Skagway! You’ll have so many options, from mountain biking to ziplining, to river rafting, and helicopter sightseeing! You crew will discuss options with you so that you can make reservations ahead of time! Your Crew will get you checked into the Westmark Inn, and set up for your Adventure day in Skagway! We are now in the final stretch of canal from Haines to Skagway. The dramatic views and amazing sailing are beyond most “lower 48ers” imagination. This 15 mile stretch is usually the windiest (as the valley narrows) and most spectacular. We will pull into the harbor in Skagway early afternoon, where we will spend the night at the marina. There is so much to do and see in Skagway…hikes, bikes, rafting, train rides, not to mentions some of the best food (and brews!) in the state. Dinner tonight is “on our own” in town.

DAY 7 -Friday

Today is your day to fly home, or perhaps continue your Great Alaskan Adventure. Captain Brendan is happy (excited) to help you plan an epic adventure beyond Southeast Alaska. Reach out and ask for advice about where to go, and what to do after you depart Hopscotch. The possibilities are endless, and your adventure on Hopscotch will just be scratching the surface of what this massive and wild land has to offer! IF you are flying home, you’ll board your Alaska Seaplanes flight from Skagway back to Juneau. You can either fly in the morning or afternoon (depending on your plans for the rest of your trip!).

Day 8 (bonus day!)

For our 2024 trips we will be adding a day (probably between day 4 and 5, where we will enjoy the small Alaska town of Haines!

A few notes about Alaska

Southeast Alaska is one of the last best places. It is wild, and empty and rugged. You’ll be traveling aboard Hopscotch into some of the most beautiful and remote places in North America. Our trips in general we will be traveling (Sailing or motoring) for between 6 and 8 hours each day through some of the most beautiful wilderness anywhere. But keep in mind that these can be “long days” on the water. With the long daylight hours there is still plenty of time for exploring anchorages by kayak, sup, and foot. It’s important to note that when on shore, you’ll be accompanied by Brendan. The wilderness is very real in Alaska, and hikes/walks/beach strolls all require us to be very Bear Aware!

Once you step on board you'll have everything you need, and then some! Our charters are "All inclusive"...food, beverages (non alcoholic) gear, even some really good jokes from the Captain! Your trip includes 5 nights on-board Hopscotch, and two at a Juneau (Beginning and End of trip) Hotel. Prices listed below do not include: items you purchase in port, crew gratuities, and any hard alcohol/wine/beer you wish to bring on-board with you.

In the charter industry, a 15-20% Crew Gratuity is customary for excellent service. If service is less than excellent we ask that you speak with us (it hasn’t happened yet!).

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • Almost Everything is included in your Adventure with us! You bring your adventurous attitude, we’ll do the rest! All food, drinks (non-alcoholic), and gear (kayaks, etc) are included.
